Overloaded mind is a tangled mess
Overloaded mind is like a ball of string that is tangled. It´s like a clump of chaotic forces that is held up just like gravitational forces hold up planets. One´s mind can´t function clearly if the headspace is in chaos. It is either slow or tacky, or fast paced and unorganized. Thought processes that should be easy to finish can take up a lot of time. How do you untangle a ball of string that is just a mess? One knot at a time. It is impossible to unsolve numerous knots at the same time. It´s just the same with the mind. You have to unsolve one thing first to be able to get to the second problem. If we can embrace the fact that stress causes mind to react in such a way that it may become knotted, it is easier to embrace the fact that the mind is in knots and therefore affecting how it functions. The good thing is that we can start to work the mind´s processes the same way we do with the ball of string: one knot at a time. We don´t have to be left in a state of catatonia or high alert when we notice that our brain works differently. It is merely a reaction of circumstances. There will be a countering reaction when we start on working on those circumstances. One knot at a time.

Overloaded mind is a tangled mess
First course in the making
Hey! I’m putting together my first 5-step course. It’s a foundational mini course or some main topics that we need to understand when embarking the journey towards working ourselves to feel better. Nothing special, nothing groundbraking, but a necessary knowledge we professionals have to start with with our clients. These are things anyone can and should embrace. These five steps will be published in the coming couple of weeks. Still learning about this platform. Excited! :)

First course in the making
Hey you all!
Starting something like this is always a bit tricky: what to say, how to set up the themes etc. But here´s my idea in a nutshell: My job basically is to help people feel better. Wellbeing is many times some sort of goal for people but what is it? Is there a line somewhere that when you cross it, you just suddenly feel good? In Finnish i tend to use a term "paremminvointi" which means feeling better. We can pursue on that no matter where in life we currently stand at. So my job is to make people feel better. I am a mental health nurse and a cognitive brief therapist so feeling better in that context usually involves talking about thoughts, emotions, feelings and how they affect on our behaviour. I am also a physiotherapist with a post-graduation specialization in mind & body / psychiatric approach. In Finland we have a specialization that goes by the translated term "Psychophysical physiotherapy" or #Physiotherapy for mental health. It includes topics such regulation of the nervous system, balancing ones´s mind & body functions and inner phenomena associated with social interaction. This type of physiotherapy leans heavily towards person´s own subjective experience and reflection of what is happening in my mind and in my body. Because of my professional background of both the mind and the body, i try to create a setting in which these two dualities can form a better functioning whole. I would very much like to share some of the things i have learned that might make one feel better. I have written down some of my professional interests that you can read throug, just click the About -tab. English is not my native language so bare with me, i will have some misspellings and grammatical oddities for sure :) Welcome! Hope to see you around! Ville
