NYS DOL Audit
Hey everyone, I am currntly going through a DOL Audit in NY for Unemployment insurance, I would like to share this experience here; so we can all learn from this. However, remember that the IRS has it's 20 Point Factor Rules and each state can have their own rules on top of IRS or Federal Laws. I'll pin this post so you can stay up to date with the findings etc.

Quality Control
A member asked me recently: "How do you actually check quality when your cleaning business is 100% remote?" When you aren't physically walking homes, your system has to do the seeing for you. We keep it completely hands-off using two photo-verification loops: 1. The cleaner side: Cleaners upload before/after photos directly into the system before they can mark the job complete. 2. The homeowner side: An automated message goes out post-clean offering a small credit toward their next service if they submit feedback and upload their own photos of the clean. 3. The rating filter: High ratings get routed straight to our public review links; low ratings flag our dashboard immediately so we can mediate between the client and contractor before it escalates. Zero manual check-in calls, clear proof on both ends, and no guesswork. How are you handling remote quality checks right now? Are you using cleaner photos, client incentives, or still making manual follow-up calls? Drop your setup below—curious to see what your workflow looks like.

5 Free Ways to Get Cleaning Clients (Without Spending a Dime on Ads)
When I was an HR Director, I learned exactly what large employers want: free perks and benefits to keep their staff happy and healthy. As a service business owner, you can exploit this perfectly. In this video, I break down 5 non-traditional, zero-ad-spend strategies to acquire residential cleaning clients by targeting B2B relationships. These are the exact plays I used to build brand presence without burning cash on Facebook ads. https://youtu.be/jAB9K4zKywY?si=EiC75EIgbAxC0GHs What you will learn in this video: - The HR Network Hack: Why joining your local SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) puts you directly in front of corporate decision-makers looking for employee perks. - The Insurance Play: How to get a vendor table at 4th-quarter Health Insurance Fairs (where your ideal clients are actively looking for wellness solutions). - The Daycare Center Strategy: How to set up a free raffle table at local daycares to capture the emails and phone numbers of dual-income, time-starved parents. - Corporate Health Fairs: How to pitch your service to large local employers (hospitals, manufacturing) as a "stress-reduction" employee benefit. - The Chamber of Commerce Trojan Horse: How to leverage free or low-cost Chamber events by volunteering to speak and solve their monthly presentation quota. These strategies require hustle, not capital. If you want to build a sustainable local service business, you need to know how to get in front of the right people offline. Let me know in the comments: Have you tried pitching your cleaning business as a corporate wellness perk? Which of these 5 strategies are you going to test this quarter?
