I need help with picking the best profile bio!
Hello everyone! My name is Wayne, a new Substack blogger using science-backed facts and strategies to write on how we can be more productive. I'm also a new member of the Newsletter Growth Lab, so it's nice to meet you guys! I just wanted some feedback on which bio you guys think I should add to my Substack profile from the three choices below (note: the first bio is my current one!): 1. Your brain wasn’t built for a world full of distractions - but you can rewire it. Fun question for today 😄
If you could steal ONE habit from your favorite Substack writer, what would it be? Their consistency? Their writing style? Their networking? Their ideas? 👇
Most of the questions I get in DMs are about this... 👀
Every week, I get DMs from creators asking questions about Substack. How to get subscribers. What makes a good bio. How to monetize. How to know if they're focusing on the right things. So I thought... Why not do it publicly and help everyone? 😄 Today is our community Q&A day! Ask me anything: - newsletter growth - getting subscribers - comments & networking - content ideas - consistency - setup & positioning - monetization - or honestly anything fun if you just want to connect haha And if there's already a lesson, framework, or resource inside the classroom that can help, I'll point you in the right direction 🙌 No question is too basic. The only bad question is the one that keeps you stuck for another month because you never asked it. Now my question for YOU: When was the moment you really wanted to invest time and efforts in Substack. Not just a thing on the side but a real long-term asset? 👇
Comments Strategy
Hi @William Leroux or anyone who may have some guidance for me. I really want to get better at my commenting but I'm not exactly sure how to go about it. I mainly use Substack on my laptop so I go into the "Search Substack" bar in the upper right and search "bible clarity", because I assume that's my niche. But what comes up are mostly articles, not notes. And they aren't even top performing articles. How do you find new people, in your niche, with high performing notes so that you can comment on publications that have not yet heard of you? For instance, here is my profile bio: "I help confused Christians understand the Bible as one connected story. Trained in Christian education and years spent creating Bible learning resources, I make Scripture simple, clear, and applicable to everyday life." What words would I type in the Search bar to find notes in my niche? Sometimes I set a timer for 30 minutes or even an hour, and I still can't crank out comments on even 10 notes because none of the ones popping up have high engagement. Thanks in advance!
How was your weekend? 😄
Hey everyone! I was away for the weekend and had a great time at my summer camp job. It was nice to slow down, relax, and meet some new people. It also reminded me of something important: even when you're focused on growing your newsletter, it's okay to take things slower sometimes and simply enjoy the process. How was your weekend? What do you do to relax, recharge, and stay grounded? Wishing everyone a great week ahead! P.S. Our first Live Workshop Q&A is coming in June! I'm excited to finally meet some of you there. 😊
