We just hit 100 members. 🎉
When I created this community, I honestly had no idea if anyone would join. I remember looking at the member count every day. 2 members... 5 members... 17 members... wondering if I was building something people actually needed or if I was just talking to myself. Today, we crossed 100 members. I know 100 isn't a crazy number compared to some communities with thousands of people, but for me, it's a reminder that every big community starts with the first person who decides to believe in it. More importantly, it's not just 100 members. It's 100 people trying to build something for themselves. People publishing newsletters, getting their first subscribers, landing clients, asking questions, sharing wins, and helping each other. That's what makes this community worth showing up for. So thank you. Whether you've been here since the beginning or joined yesterday, I'm genuinely grateful you're here. That said, we're just getting started. I want this to become the best place on the internet to learn how to grow a newsletter, and that only happens if we keep improving together. So I'd love your honest feedback: - What's been the most valuable part of the community? - What should I improve? - What would you like to see more of? Every suggestion gets read. Also, over the next little while, I'm opening a few newsletter audit calls where I'll personally look at your newsletter, growth strategy, and give you personalized feedback on what I'd focus on next. If you're interested, just comment: Audit I'll send you all the details in DM so check your message :). Here's to the first 100. Now let's build something even bigger together. 🚀

Great news William! So happy for you! This is a great community and I've learned quite a bit, and it's helping me in a very practical way!
Hey, I hit 90 subscribers!
It's not a lot, but it's come a long way from the 68 I had when I started on the Newsletter Growth Lab!

Thanks William....but as soon as I posted this, I end up losing two😔 But I think perhaps those 2 people actually left Substack because I can't find them anymore. In any event, I'm going to keep going because I do see how commenting is working!
Live Growth Board Week #14
Welcome back to a Live Growth Board! Super excited to see your progress! (2 months milestone!) Where you get the chance to see your progress each week, ask question and be accountable. Which is the best way to grow on Susbtack and in this community too. Each Monday, we share our work, stats and progress in the classroom! It’s also a great way for me, and the community, to support and cheer each other on. Just share your update like I did below 👇 For me: Subscriber count: 1911 (previously 1856) Open rate: 23% (previously 22%) Notes published: 35 (previously 35) Growth comments: 300 Classroom work: Didn’t do much this week but we had our first workshop! Thanks for being there guys! How many months have you been here, let’s celebrate! 🙌

Live Growth Board Week #13
Welcome back to a Live Growth Board! Super excited to see your progress! (Kind of crazy that it's already been 13 weeks!!) Where you get the chance to see your progress each week, ask question and be accountable. Which is the best way to grow on Susbtack and in this community too. Each Monday, we share our work, stats and progress in the classroom! It’s also a great way for me, and the community, to support and cheer each other on. Just share your update like I did below 👇 For me: Subscriber count: 1851 (previously 1796) Open rate: 22% (previously 20%) Notes published: 35 (previously 27) Growth comments: 200 Classroom work: I am working on our first Live together. It's in late June, make sure to save a time for it! Excited to talk to you all. Question: what part of your Substack you think to work more on?

@William Leroux Sure, first, I find it a lot easier to voice my instructions to AI than to type them—I get way better results and feedback because I'm not stopping to make sure everything is spelled correctly or that my thoughts are clear. I just start speaking, rambling, all of it! - I voice my frustration (i.e. need to comment more) - I offer my opinion on what I think the solution is (find better notes) - AI knows my niche because I've already been using it in setting up my Substack, but I still reiterate it while talking. - Then I ask for a strategy. - What AI returns is a complete breakdown of what I actually need and it's not simply to comment more, but it's to find better notes. For instance, my niche is "Bible Clarity" but that doesn't really speak to anything. Instead, AI returned a full list of the "pain points" that I speak to and that's how I'm to start my search. It also gave me a Comment Template of responses and replies that sound totally like me. - And from that, it built out an entire Comment Strategy tailored to who I write for.

@William Leroux Thanks William!
Lab Note Boost #6
Hey everyone! Welcome to our weekly Lab Note Boost!! 🤩 The goal is simple: share a piece of your work and connect with others everyday FRIDAY. (oups a bit late this week...) Not only is it fun to connect with writers who are on the same journey as you, but it’s also proven that when you engage with someone else’s Note or post, it gets pushed to more people, helping that writer grow. (a good strategy to learn in the Substack Accelerator in the Classroom!) If we all participate, this can create a massive boost. Here’s how to participate: - Say what you write about - Share 1 Note or 1 piece of your work - Say who it’s for - Connect, engage, and interact with 3 other writers in this Boost (likes, comments/restack!) Continue the good work everyone! (A first Live together is coming up on the 20!)

I help confused Christians understand the Bible as one connected story. - Last week's article explored what fatherlessness teaches us about longing, identity, and God as "Father". - Here's the link to last week's most liked note related to the article.
