Meditation Spotlight: Courage of the Lion
As we close the week together, today’s Studio Stillness spotlight is a practice about grounded courage.
Not the loud kind of courage.
Not the performative kind.
But the quiet courage that allows you to stay present with your inner world.
This week inside the Sangha, we’ve been exploring ANTs — Automatic Negative Thoughts. The patterns that show up quickly, often without invitation, and try to pull our nervous system into reaction.
But meeting those thoughts with compassion requires something first.
Courage.
The courage to pause.
The courage to stay present instead of running.
The courage to respond rather than react.
In this meditation, we explore the image of a lion... not as aggression, but as calm authority.
A lion does not rush to prove its strength. It rests in it.
When we meet our thoughts from that place of inner steadiness, something shifts.
We stop fighting ourselves, and begin leading ourselves.
If you want to explore this deeper, it connects directly to this week’s teaching:
How to Stop Reacting to Negative Thoughts (and Start Responding Instead)
Today’s invitation is simple.
Available inside the Studio Stillness Library for Premium Members.
Embodied Prompt:
Lengthen your spine.
Take three slow breaths.
Notice where strength already lives in your body.
Sometimes the most powerful courage is simply staying present with yourself.
I need courage to slow down and breathe.
I need courage to face difficult thoughts.
I need courage to trust myself.
