I've been a little quieter in here lately, and one thing I'm learning is that sometimes it's perfectly okay to step back. Not because you've lost interest or love something any less, but because sometimes your brain just needs to say ENOUGH for a bit! It's six weeks today since I said goodbye to my beautiful, ridiculous T-Rex. That same week, I received an eviction notice, following months of dealing with the aftermath of a flood. So between working full-time, grieving my boy and applying for what feels like every rental in Adelaide, life has certainly been keeping me on my toes! One thing I hadn't expected was how emotional looking for a new home would be. Every time I walk through a property, there's that little realisation that T-Rex won't be coming with us. And that's hard. But something I've been determined to do since losing him is celebrate his LIFE, rather than let his loss become the whole story. Because that boy really knew how to live! Larger than life, full of mischief, completely unapologetic and always finding a way to make me laugh. T-Rex left me with a roar and courage in my heart, and I'm determined to make good use of both! To keep finding joy, embracing life and celebrating those little moments, even when things aren't going quite to plan. Meanwhile, my resident Parkour Piranha has been keeping things interesting! Kaida managed to injure BOTH her carpal pads last week, so her parkour career has been temporarily suspended. Thankfully they're looking so much better, and we've finally enjoyed a little walk together. And honestly, I'm so grateful for that little girl. She continues to surprise me, make me laugh and remind me to enjoy what's right in front of us. Even on the hardest days, there's always something about her that makes me smile. I think that's something I've really come to appreciate about Magic in Dogs. Sometimes it's not about doing more, but simply being present, noticing the little things and enjoying life together. And sometimes that means giving yourself permission to step back and recharge, too.
