Honoring Forgiveness
This morning's Sacred Petitions was very emotional for me. I enjoy SO MUCH spending time with like-minded women who are all on their own unique journeys. It's special. It's sacred.
I wrote this during the session and then after I made a pretty quick watercolor. No judging!! lol. I find painting to be a wonderful way to find my voice that I'm getting back after losing it many years ago.
Remind me...
I am wilderness
I am the storm
I am the limit set by the mother
I am the hard kernel inside the nut meat.
So many masks - the chameleon
"Oh! You're interesting," I said as a maiden.
"Let's see what pieces I can take from you
and put in my broken places.
and no, they don't fit perfectly
but I'm very adaptable."
"You can be whatever you want to be!" I said as a mother
and then could never stop detaching.
"Come to me," I said as a crone. "I will give you refuge."
It took a lifetime to strip the masks, scrub the pigments from my eyes.
To realize the sinner and the saint were both just well-rehearsed lies.
