🕊 Gyan Mudra (gee-yahn) | For Wisdom & Inner Knowing
Origins & Symbolism:
Gyan means knowledge in Sanskrit. It’s one of the most recognized mudras, representing the union of individual consciousness with universal intelligence. The thumb symbolizes divine truth; the index finger represents human awareness. Their meeting forms a circuit of wisdom—the moment thought merges with truth.
How to Position the Hands:Touch the tip of your index finger to the tip of your thumb. Keep the remaining three fingers extended and relaxed. Rest your hands on your knees or thighs, palms facing upward. Keep your spine tall and shoulders soft.
Benefits:
  • Improves concentration and memory
  • Promotes mental clarity and discernment
  • Balances the nervous system during decision-making
  • Calms the mind while sharpening intuition
When to Use It:
Before studying, writing, teaching, or reflecting on leadership choices. Also powerful before sleep if your mind refuses to settle.
Luxe Action:
Breathe in stillness; exhale the need to “figure it all out."
Comment: “Wisdom within, noise without.”
