Why I Created This Community Over the last 15+ years, I’ve had the privilege of leading in many different spaces — schools, recreation centers, churches, corporate environments, youth programs, and mentoring groups. I’ve served as a pastor, mentor, teacher, faith-based counselor, supervisor, and speaker working with companies, community leaders, and individuals trying to grow. But here’s the truth about leadership… Most of what I learned didn’t come from success. It came from failure. From building things from the ground up. From making mistakes. From trying again. From learning what works — and what doesn’t. That’s why I created this community. This space is where I’ll share: • Leadership lessons • Real experiences • Practical tools • Hard truths • And the mistakes that shaped me Because I always say: “Don’t just tell me how you became successful… Tell me how you overcame failure.” Real leaders grow through failure, humility, and learning from each other. The Leader Within with Mike Vick &Real Men Real Talk
Leadership isn't just about having a platform—it's about making an impact wherever God opens a door. This weekend at the Real Men, Real Talk event, I had the opportunity to facilitate a session with an incredible group of young leaders from across Ohio, connect with men committed to growth, and share resources through The Leader Within: Flawed but Called and God's Memo. One of the most powerful moments was hearing from Michael Vick and hearing his story of resilience, growth, and redemption. His journey is a reminder that leadership is not defined by one mistake, one decision, or one difficult season. Mike Vick was a leader on the field, but his story also reminds us that true leadership is developed through adversity, accountability, growth, and the willingness to keep moving forward. Flawed and all, he continued to grow, learn, and use his story to inspire others. And that's the heart behind The Leader Within. None of us are perfect. We all have moments, mistakes, and seasons that shape us. But our flaws do not cancel our calling. Our failures do not erase our purpose. What matters is what we do with the lessons, how we grow, and how we use our story to impact others. This weekend confirmed once again: people don't just need motivation—they need mentorship, community, and someone who believes in them. That's exactly why this community exists.
