Truth Tuesday #7
TRUTH TUESDAY #7 Leadership Truth: Leaders go first. If you expect your team to work hard, you work hard. If you expect integrity, you live with integrity. If you expect accountability, you take responsibility. Leadership is not about pointing the way. It’s about walking the path first. Question: Have you ever had a leader who led by example? If so how?

Yeah—I’ve experienced that kind of leadership, and honestly, it shaped how I lead today. Some of the strongest examples didn’t come from people with titles… they came from people who were willing to serve first. I’ve seen leaders who didn’t just tell others to show up—they were already there. Leaders who didn’t just talk about hard work—they were doing the work nobody else wanted to do. Leaders who didn’t demand accountability—but owned their mistakes openly and corrected them without excuses. And that stuck with me. Because it showed me that leadership isn’t about position—it’s about posture. That’s a big part of why I lead the way I do now. Whether it was cleaning floors, mentoring young people, or building something like The Leader Within, I’ve learned this: If I’m asking others to grow, I need to be growing. If I’m asking others to commit, I need to be committed. If I’m asking others to follow, I better be walking a path worth following. The truth is, the leaders who impacted me most didn’t just give instructions… They gave an example I couldn’t ignore. And now, I carry that forward—because leaders go first.
“From Showing Up to Speaking Up”
Today at The Leader Within, something special happened. The young leaders didn’t just show up… they spoke up. They created a video in their own words, sharing why this group matters to them and why they would recommend it to others. No scripts. No pressure. Just real, honest feedback from the leaders themselves. And what they said? It was powerful. This is why we do it. This is what leadership looks like. Growth. Confidence. Ownership. Voice. The Leader Within isn’t just something they attend… it’s something they believe in. And that means everything. #TheLeaderWithin #YouthLeadership #FutureLeaders #MentorshipMatters #LeadershipDevelopment

Truth Tuesday #6
TRUTH TUESDAY #6. Leadership Truth: Leadership is service, not status. The best leaders are not asking: “What can people do for me?” They ask: “How can I help the people around me grow, succeed, and become better?” When a leader serves their team, the team will fight for the leader. Question: 🔷️What is one way a leader has served or helped you grow?

I'll go first: One way a leader helped me grow was by holding me accountable while still believing in me. They didn’t let me stay comfortable or make excuses—they challenged me to be better, think deeper, and take ownership of my actions. At the same time, they reminded me of my potential, even when I couldn’t see it myself. That balance of support and accountability pushed me to grow not just as a leader, but as a person.
