I'm an anthropologist and trauma survivor who spent 12 years in talk therapy without any success in resolving PTSD - then my therapist ignorantly told me that I would always have PTSD. This proves why you need a trauma trained therapist at the very least!
After my therapist suddenly left, I discovered that holistic healing methods like movement, mindfulness and breathing helped more than trying to talk about traumatic incidents that had no words. I then became a certified trauma recovery coach.
I am here to help you focus on what works. Talk therapy alone will not resolve PTSD. While talking will help you analyze yourself, trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. We need to work on both aspects to heal. We also to come out of isolation. I started this community as a place to share struggles and victories and learn what trauma does to your body, mind and nervous system, and the four emotional healing topics we all need to address. You need to work on ALL of you, not just your mind.
