The everyday French expressions textbooks leave out!
Bonjour la communauté!! Ever notice how real conversational French sounds completely different from the audio tracks in old grammar books? To sound like a natural speaker, you need to step away from rigid formulas and start using the quick, casual expressions that natives actually use every single day. Why this matters for your fluency Fluency isn't about being a grammar robot; it's about conversational chemistry. When you sprinkle these natural expressions into your speech, you instantly sound more relaxed, confident, and like a true part of the conversation. Let's practice this live! Tomorrow at our Speaking Lab, we are going to cover a variety of these essential expressions used in everyday French. I will leave the deep explanations for the class—instead, we will focus purely on practicing them in real-time conversations so you can stop translating word-for-word and start reacting like a local. When: Tomorrow @ 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Bangkok Time) or 9pm EST Write a comment with your name to sign up! See you there!
French Debate & Persuasion - Social Media: Connection or Disconnection?
Bonjour à tous ! Our next Debate class will be about: “L'utilisation des réseaux sociaux : Connexion ou déconnexion ?” (The use of social media: Connection or disconnection?) We’ll practice: - Analyzing the impact of social media on modern communication and mental health. - Formulating complex arguments to debate whether these platforms bring us closer together or drive us apart. - Handling counterarguments spontaneously and refining your precision when defending a viewpoint. This is an advanced discussion class designed for confident speakers looking to practice nuance and precision. Come ready to share and defend your perspective! If you plan to join, please comment your name below to sign up.
A tiny doorway into French flavours
Today, when I was faced with lots of choices while selecting “une morceau de fromage” (a piece of cheese) I used the “akkar bakkar” method… which is “Am stram gram” for French speakers or “Eenie meenie miney moo” for English speakers. 😂 But I don’t use this method for everything. Like for example I didn’t pick my French professor randomly. I chose him because he is competent and patient. In our current sessions we are working on my speaking fluidity and fluency. It will come with practice. And that’s exactly why I am describing my experience using correct tenses in this video in French. Reviewing my tenses was my homework. And it means more than memorising verb conjugations on their own. Because you see in French context is king. So speaking with a mentor and getting their feedback live is extremely helpful. So did you practice your French today?

Mastering silent letters in French!
Salut tout le monde! Ever feel like you’re doing great reading a French sentence, until you stumble upon a word that looks like it has five extra letters you aren't supposed to say? You are not alone. Mastering silent letters is the ultimate shortcut to sounding less like a textbook and more like a local. In French, we love writing letters just for decoration. Here are three major culprits you’ll see constantly: - Le Grand (The Tall One): Grand is pronounced "grahn". That final -d is completely silent. - Parler (To Speak): Parler is pronounced "par-lay". Whenever an infinitive verb ends in -er, the -r goes quiet. - Salut (Hi/Bye): Salut is pronounced "sah-loo". Throw away that final -t! Why This Matters If you pronounce every single letter, French becomes choppy and robotic. When you learn which letters to drop, your speech instantly gains that smooth, flowing rhythm the French language is famous for. Tonight, we are stripping away the guesswork and building your beginner foundations from scratch. No prior knowledge needed, just bring your curiosity! We kick off tonight at 9:00 PM Bangkok time (10:00 AM EST). Ready to start your French journey with total confidence? Drop your name in the comments below if you are joining us tonight! See you there!
