Daughtership and infantilization
You cannot become a sovereign woman while still seeking parental permission. ~Huntress~
My mother’s significant other
Over the holidays I went to my mother’s in New Mexico. I left early because I did not want to deal with my mother’s partner. He has been living with her for 6 years. I have grown so tired of tolerating the disrespect and emotional abuse that he gives her. It’s even moreso since she’s had a stroke 3 years ago and has lost much of her physical and mental abilities. Attitudes finally came to ahead last week when he ran down my gay Hispanic friend to me. Now I am trying to figure out the solution: Do I make him leave and I will move in and take care of her, or do I let him stay because she loves him so much and is mentally dependent on him. We will see what’s the best choice.
