My journey is the messy reality of high-stakes caregiving, and I know what it’s like to feel untethered.
I became a mother at 16, married at 17, and had baby number two by 18. By 31, I was twice divorced and remarried. Together, we became a family of neurodivergence, with ADHD or low-needs autism in all of us. Just as we found our rhythm, our son with high-needs autism arrived, followed by our youngest daughter with ADHD. In 2018, our son’s epilepsy diagnosis added to the stress, forcing me into a new role as a 24/7 nervous system for my family.
I found that using yoga and meditation as tools helps me stay grounded. I was transformed, able to support my kids without losing myself.
