Over the past couple of days, I’ve been talking about the idea of converting unused belongings into cash.
One question naturally follows:
What kinds of things actually sell on Facebook Marketplace?
Many people assume only expensive or collectible items will sell. But in reality, very ordinary household items often find buyers.
Here are some examples that frequently sell:
• small kitchen appliances (pressure cookers, mixers, air fryers)• furniture like stools, chairs, or side tables• tools and workshop items• printers or electronics• home décor and lamps• hobby or craft supplies
Often these are things that once served a purpose in our homes but are no longer being used.
What’s interesting is that many of these items sell in the $40–$150 range, sometimes more depending on the item and condition.
In my own case, I recently sold 15 items for just under $1,500, simply by listing items that had been sitting unused.
The items weren’t rare or special. They were simply things that someone else needed.
Over the next couple of days, I’ll explain a little more about how the process works and how I decide what to sell first.
For now, I’m curious:
What’s one item in your home that you haven’t used in a long time?
