How I Decide What to Sell First
Once you start looking around your home with new eyes, you may notice many things that could potentially sell.
That raises an important question:
Where do you start?
When I began clearing out my storage unit, I didn’t try to list everything at once. Instead, I focused on items that were:
• easy to identify• in good working condition• something I clearly no longer needed• reasonably easy to carry or move
Starting with these kinds of items helped me build momentum.
Another helpful guideline is this:
If something has been sitting unused for a year or more, there’s a good chance it could be a candidate to sell.
Often the first items people sell are things like:
• small appliances• extra furniture• tools• electronics• hobby equipment
These are items that many people are actively searching for.
When I started listing items this way, something surprising happened — the process became easier and even a little fun.
Over the next couple of days, I’ll share more about how I price items and create listings.
For today, here’s a simple question:
What’s one item in your home that you know you no longer use?
