Welcome!
Hi, I’m Dawn. I’m a music teacher in a small rural school, and I created The Calm After the Bell because I believe teaching can be meaningful and sustainable. I’ve experienced burnout, overwhelm, and discouragement—but I’ve also learned what it looks like to rebuild a healthier relationship with this profession. This space is for teachers who still love teaching, but want to protect their energy, create boundaries, and rediscover joy without pretending the hard parts don’t exist. I’m really glad you’re here.

Welcome!
“What does ‘the calm after the bell’ look like for you right now?”
When the bell rings and the building finally quiets, what do you need most in that moment? For some of us, “calm” means silence. For others, it’s movement, music, a walk, or just not being needed for a few minutes. The idea behind The Calm After the Bell isn’t that teaching suddenly becomes easy—it’s that we learn how to come back to ourselves after the day. If you want to share:• What does calm look like for you right now?• Or what would you like it to look like?
