I’ve been paying more attention to my actions and less to my feelings.
Whether they’re hyping me up or trying to hold me back.
Let’s rewind for a second.
December 16th, 2024.
I was sitting with people who meant a lot to me.
Making plans for January 15th, 2025, and beyond.
Here’s something I’ve come to realize.
You become your environment.
The people around you?
They’re like mirrors, reflecting your habits and mindset back at you.
But not everyone you feel connected to is putting in the effort to fuel your growth.
- This isn’t about FOMO.
- It’s not a guide to picking better friends.
- It’s not even about who belongs in your life.
It’s about this truth.
Feelings are the world’s worst psychics.
They act like they can predict the future.
Whispering,
“You’re gonna regret this” or “This is what happiness looks like.”
Spoiler alert: they’re almost always wrong.
Today is January 19th, 2025.
The plans I thought I’d miss?
The ones I was sure would haunt me if I didn’t show up?
They came and went.
I chose the road less traveled.
At first I thought the 15th would hit me hard.
Like some emotional storm I couldn’t escape.
But instead of spiraling, I worked.
I built.
I focused on what’s ahead.
Nicolas de Chamfort nailed it when he said:
“We should act more, think less, and stop watching ourselves live.”
That’s the thing about feelings.
They’re loud, dramatic, and unreliable.
Effort, though?
Effort is quiet. It’s steady. And it gets the job done.
Effort will always outweigh feelings.
Every time.
So, let me ask you.
What efforts are you making toward your dreams?
Are you stacking pebbles or waiting for someone to build your castle?
Because success is built on work.
And every step you take today is shaping the foundation for tomorrow.
Stay Tremendous,
Your 5/10 beginner copywriter (but putting in the effort),
ABicho
P.S. The Gif is how our futures look at us when we choose effort over feelings ;)
