outreach advice?

I've sent some DMs to a prospect, introduced myself, and offered him working for free as a (training) for me and value for him

and the prospect isn't big at all he has 5k on his ig but he works really hard on his content

he left me on seen unfortunately

my question is : did I mess up offering a free work or is it a good start to build a social proof?
