🚀 DAY 4: How to Turn a DM Into a Sales Call (Without Sounding Salesy)
Yesterday, you sent 20+ DMs to potential clients. Now, some will reply—but if you don’t handle the conversation correctly, you’ll lose them.
Most copywriters scare off leads by pitching too fast or having awkward convos that go nowhere. Today, you’ll fix that.
What Happens If You Skip This?
🚨 You’ll get ghosted because you sound like every other desperate freelancer.
🚨 You’ll waste leads by not knowing what to say next.
🚨 You’ll stay stuck, while others book calls and close deals.
What Happens If You Get This Right?
✅ You’ll move DMs into real sales conversations without being pushy.
✅ You’ll get more calls booked, leading to paying clients.
✅ You’ll build authority and trust, making sales 10x easier.
🚀 Your Challenge Today:
1️⃣ Use This DM Flow to Get a Call (Without Feeling Weird)
Once someone replies, follow this 4-step formula to smoothly move them toward a call:
Step 1: Ask About Their Business
Your goal is to get them talking. People love talking about themselves.
👉 "Nice! How’s business been going for you lately?"
👉 "Cool! What’s been working well for you?"
✔ Why? It makes them feel heard and keeps the convo natural.
Step 2: Identify a Pain Point
Find out what they’re struggling with so you can position your offer later.
👉 "What’s been the biggest challenge for you right now?"
👉 "Are you happy with your sales/conversions, or looking to improve?"
✔ Why? If they admit a problem, they’re more likely to want help.
Step 3: Mention a Quick Win (Show You Know Your Stuff)
Share a short tip or example to build credibility.
👉 "Gotcha. A lot of [niche] struggle with that. One quick fix I’ve seen work is [insert a simple tip]."
👉 "I helped [past client or example] boost [result] by doing [small tweak]."
✔ Why? It positions you as an expert without sounding salesy.
Step 4: Invite Them to a Call (Casually, No Pressure)
Once they’re engaged, drop a soft invite:
👉 "This is exactly what I help clients with. Want to hop on a quick call this week? No pressure, just happy to share some insights."
👉 "I’ve got a couple of ideas that could help you fix that fast—want to chat for 15 min?"
✔ Why? This keeps it low-pressure, so they feel comfortable saying yes.
2️⃣ Book 3+ Calls Today
Your goal: Move at least 3 leads into a call.
  • Go back to yesterday’s convos and follow up.
  • Use the 4-step formula to smoothly get them on a call.
  • Keep it casual and helpful—people hate aggressive sales.
🔥 BONUS POWER MOVE: Handle "I’ll Think About It" Like a Pro
If they hesitate, say this:
👉 "oh yeah, sure. but what else is holding you back?"(they don't sit around pondering, they just forget, then they'll go onto their actual concerns)
✔ Why? It helps you uncover objections so you can handle them.
