Tyson is not the only copywriting course out there online, there are hundreds of them, and they all teach the same thing:
Use Instagram Outreach!
And do it these different ways:
Compliment, build up the conversation over a couple of messages them ask them if they need a copywriter.
Ask “technical questions” to raise their awareness, build up the messages then ask if they need a copywriter.
Bait and Switch, send a message asking about how you can buy from them and then offering your services as a copywriter.
All of these methods “were at one time working”
However, with all the courses out there teaching the same thing:
Make 10K a month
Become a copywriter and make money sending emails
Work from home for only four hours a day and become rich regardless of your age.
Use Instagram for your Client Outreach and do it these different ways
The use of IG Outreach has been extremely overused thanks to the thousands of new copywriters that are doing it.
This makes the business owners extremely angry and most won’t even comment, will block the sender and some even answer violently with comments to the “very” first message!
This has all happened in the past 120 days or so, and it is fact.
So, to get around this problem, I suggest being upfront and honest, but never, ever, use the word “copywriter
”, the name “copywriter” has received a huge dislike from all businesses out there.
And this is because of all the courses being taught and the promise of making “10k a month”.
Example: This is a message I sent out to a company that makes tiny tow behind trailers,
off road trailers and other smaller RV style trailers.
This is the message I sent to them:
“Hi, my name is (blank), a published outdoor writer for over two decades. I own Outdoor Writing Co, an outdoor writing/digital marketing agency, where I help companies who cater to the outdoor industry. In fact, I had saved up some cash to help purchase a Bean Trailer back in 2018. Then along came this COVID thing and my plans and income changed. However, I and others are back to help put all of that behind us. I want to help Bean Trailer get the word out with the help of digital marketing solutions. It's totally cool if you already have that covered, and I know you do by the way the website and IG accounts look. However, if you need any help in that area based on my experience, I would be honored to help out. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon and I hope to see you in Flagstaff!”
This is just an example of stating upfront who you are, what are your intentions and how you are wanting to do something. I give them a way out of the conversation by stating “It's totally cool if you already have that covered, and I know you do by the way the website and IG accounts look.” and I also give them an invite: However, if you need any help in that area based on my experience, I would be honored to help out.
Then I tell them that I am aware of the upcoming Trade Show In Flagstaff and that I will most likely be there.: I would be honored to help out. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon and I hope to see you in Flagstaff!”
NEVER EVER !
Tell them you are a “copywriter”, it brings with it a very untrustworthy idea with it BECAUSE of all the drama with IG outreach.
Use other terms:
Email Automation Assistant
Digital Business Landscape Designer
How to “ do deep research” into any prospect.
#1: Check all other Social Media Platforms, FaceBook, YouTube, “X” (Twitter), LinkedIn. If not found on any other platform, simply forget about them and move on.
#2: If found on at least two other social media platforms, check for their engagement levels. If those levels are low, move on. If strong, continue to the next research part.
#3: Do they have a website and a landing page? If not, move on. If so, continue to the next step.
#4: Can you sign up for their email/newsletter? If not, move on. If yes, then do so and read what they send you.
#5: Study what they send you, read it very carefully looking for flaws of any kind. If you find flaws,
make a note of what it is,
where it is located in the content, and you can possibly use it later.
#6: Check their competition to see how they rank with them and others.
