Welcome to The 3AM Thinkers Club ππππ
You know those middle-of-the-night moments when your brain won't shut up? Whether it be with your own problems or someone else's. When you're lying there at 2:47am thinking of the most random things?
Like...
"Why do luxury hotels give you tiny soap bottles when others have big dispensers?" or
"Why do I ALWAYS want to buy something at Aldi's special buys but never at the other supermarkets?"
That's your strategic brain working!
This place will teach your brain to do that... figure out those answers... but while you're awake.
WHY BOTHER? Because when you can spot strategies in real life business scenarios like Aldi or Hotels, you'll be able to reverse engineer things and play with them in your own business.
Here, you will learn how to think like a strategist. And you're about to get addicted to it.
Your 3am brain already does this... makes random connections others don't. We're just going to train it to do it in an educated way so that you can benefit from it, instead of being kept awake from it.
π HERE'S HOW IT WORKS!!
β This is NOT a place to:
- Ask for help with your personal business problems
- Share your struggles or get advice
- Post about your offers or services
β
This IS a place to:
- Share cool business observations you've spotted in the wild
- Decode why companies do seemingly backwards things
- Make connections between totally unrelated industries
- Train your brain to see strategic patterns everywhere
Think of it like a gym for your strategic thinking. Every post, every comment, every observation is a rep that makes your pattern-recognition muscle stronger.
π THE ADDICTION SYSTEM (You're going to love this)
HERE'S HOW YOU GET POINTS - IT'S ALL ABOUT QUALITY:
π₯ When people LIKE your posts - you get points
π₯ When people LIKE your comments - you get points
π₯ When people ENGAGE with your insights - you get points
BUT HERE'S THE CATCH: You only get points when people actually LIKE what you've shared. Not just because you posted something. It has to be GOOD.
The better your insight, whether it's in a post or comment, the more likes you'll get. The more likes you get, the more points you earn!
This means QUALITY beats quantity every single time. One brilliant comment that gets 10 likes is worth way more than 10 boring comments that get ignored.
THE SECRET? The people who level up fastest are the ones who drop the most valuable insights in the COMMENTS of other people's posts! That's where the real strategic training happens and where you can rack up the most likes.
Level up = unlock strategic templates and frameworks that I create to help you even more!!!
The higher quality your insights, the more likes you get. The more likes you get, the faster you level up!
π POST CATEGORIES TO GET YOU STARTED:
π§ "Backwards Business Breakdowns" - Why does IKEA make you walk through the entire store to buy one thing? Let's reverse-engineer this...
π± "3AM Screenshot Lols" - Post your illegible midnight business notes. We'll decode what your sleepy brain was thinking.
π "Pattern Spotting Practice" - "Why does everyone in this industry do xyz??"
π "Cross-Industry Thinking" - "What if yoga studios operated like law firms?" Make the weird connections.
π§ͺ "Decode This Psychology"- "Why did some tables get red napkins and I got a white one?" Figure out the psychology around business decisions.
π HOW TO COMMENT LIKE A STRATEGIC GENIUS (AND GET THOSE LIKES!)
Every comment should add strategic value, not just agreement. The goal is to make people go "damn, I never thought of that!" and hit that like button.
Instead of: "Great idea!" Try: "Love this because it solves the [specific problem] that most [industry] businesses struggle with."
Instead of: "I agree!" Try: "Yes, and that reminds me of how [different industry] handles this byβ¦"
Instead of: "Love this." Try: "Ooooh andβ¦ what if it also [your theory]β¦"
π Golden rule: If your comment could be replaced by a thumbs up emoji, make it more strategic.
Go weird, go wrong, go upside down. That's how we discover more interesting ways to think about things!
REMEMBER: The best value can be found in the comments, so jump in there! The more valuable your comments, the more likes you get, (the more points you earn!)
π POSTS AND COMMENTS THAT GET THE MOST LIKES
- Cool observations that make people think differently
- Answers/comments that aren't the expected or obvious answer. EG: If someone asked why Ikea makes you walk through the whole store before purchasing.... the obvious answer is important (to get you to see everything properly and buy more than you thought)... but the less obvious answers that you have to think for can reveal even more. EG: So that you're likely more tired and spend money at the cafe part way through and you're ready to spend at the end. Or so that you know one is browsing and one is buying, which makes you feel the need to buy because you're in the buying spot. Different approaches to the same question.
- Questions that challenge obvious assumptions
- Ideas that spark "AHH DUDEE, that could actually work" responses
π THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWER!!
Do NOT be afraid to join in. You can't grow from just watching. What we think might be the 'right' answer may be true, sure, but when we start to reallllly think, we may find more reasons, better reasons, reasons NOT to do it, backwards ways it could work in different industries like yours, or things even the original designers of that concept didn't think of.
Don't hesitate to try and have a go! The goal isn't to comment more - it's to drop insights that make other strategic minds light up and hit that like button!
ALSO... sometimes the 'wrong' answer can actually create more valuable conversations and value to everyone because it opens up the discussion. Everything is a win in the comments.
π YOUR FIRST MISSION:
Drop a new post in the Club with the business thing you've noticed recently that made you go "why do they do that?"
Don't explain it. Just observe it. Let's see what patterns we can spot together.
Examples:
"Why did Kmart put the checkout in the middle of the store?"
"Why do cinemas charge $10 for popcorn that costs them cents?"
"Why do dentists always try to book your next appointment before you leave?"
"Why are some launches long and some launches only go for like 3 days?"
Remember: There are no wrong observations. Your thoughts are exactly what we want because it's how we discover new strategies!
π THEN - and this is crucial - go find other people's posts and start commenting with your strategic thoughts. The better your insight, the more likes you'll get, the more points you'll earn!
