Year 5 Maths is happening in 5 days
Vocab Challenge on Word Traps starts tomorrow @5:30pm
Hey everyone, new and old members, I hope you are all having a good Sunday. Tomorrow is the first day of the 3-day Vocabulary Challenge starting at 5:30 pm, London time. Our LJ families have access to the joining link on the SKOOL Calendar here. For the rest of the families who have registered, I have sent out email reminders with the joining link and instructions on what children need to get for tomorrow. @Sheena Ager has finalised the content and her handouts, which you will receive every day after the session, along with the day's replay. I have finished the edits on the workbook. Looking forward to tomorrow.🥳

A quick walk-through so nothing feels confusing
This is a quick walk-through showing where lessons, recordings and worksheets live so parents don’t have to hunt or feel behind. I recorded this because clarity matters. If you’re already part of the programme, this will help you feel more organised. If you’re not, this simply shows how we keep things simple and calm for families.

11+ jOURNEY Webinar at 7 pm: The one skill that powers every 11+ paper
Tonight’s session is all about vocabulary, but through a very different lens. Vocabulary is not just a list of words to memorise. It is the currency your child uses to buy marks in every single 11+ question. Maths. Comprehension. Creative writing. Reasoning. Everything sits on words. I’ll be sharing how you can use December and the holidays to build a strong vocabulary base without stress. Tiny daily habits, simple games, short challenges and the tools children need to decode unfamiliar words with confidence. We will also open early access to our January Vocabulary Challenge, which always fills quickly. If you would like to join, you can book early through the online store on our website. I hope you can make it this evening at 7 pm. It will be a lovely, light session. Here is the link to register: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/9ZhMuo30TXWNEz2ZrH4-Tg See you soon Sabah

💬 Tuesday Parent Session- Open to All
Every Tuesday at 7 pm, I run a short free session for any parent, where I talk about the 11 plus journey. Today, I discuss structure, mindset and building confidence through consistency. You’re very welcome to attend. It’s not compulsory—it’s just something I offer to help parents see the big picture in the 11 plus journey. You can register for these sessions here

Time Management and Answers in Learning Journey Lessons
Hello parents and guardians, It’s been a fantastic first half term - the enthusiasm and progress from both groups have been brilliant! Just some clarification on marking and time management in the sessions. To make the most of lesson time, I often ask pupils to share quick answers aloud or in the chat. For longer exercises, I may show the answers briefly and ask pupils to use the lesson recording to finish marking. Also: if pupils don’t finish all the work in lesson time, they’re welcome to complete it later as optional homework using the recording to check answers. This approach keeps lessons fast-paced and focused on learning new skills, rather than spending too long marking when pupils have already shown they understand the key ideas. Recordings are uploaded on the same page as the worksheets - I add them within a day of each lesson. Thank you for your continued support, Dale
