⭐ Business English Tip: Answer Interview Questions with the STAR Method
Have you ever been asked: • "Tell me about a time you solved a difficult problem." • "Describe a challenging situation." • "Give me an example of when you showed leadership." Many English learners know what they want to say—but they struggle to organize their answer. That's where the STAR Method comes in. ⭐ S – Situation Briefly explain the context. ⭐ T – Task What was your responsibility? ⭐ A – Action What did you do? ⭐ R – Result What happened? What did you achieve? Example: Question: "Tell me about a time you improved a process." Situation: Our team was missing project deadlines. Task: I was asked to improve our workflow. Action: I introduced a project tracking system and held weekly check-ins. Result: We reduced delays by 30% and completed projects on time. 💬 Practice: Answer this question in the comments: "Tell me about a time you solved a problem at work." I'll give you feedback on both your English and your interview answer. #BusinessEnglish #JobInterview #STARMethod #EnglishForWork #CareerGrowth

Welcome to the Lab! 🚀 START HERE to unlock your first training.
Welcome to the TEFLirl Business Speaking Lab! I’m so excited to have you here. This isn't just another "English course." This is a training ground for non-native professionals who are tired of being the "quiet one" in meetings. Our goal is simple: To get you speaking up, interrupting politely, and sounding like a leader. 📅 The Weekly Rhythm To get results, you need to show up. - The Live Speaking Lab: Every Wednesday at 9:00 AM PST. - Format: 60 minutes. Real simulations. Real-time feedback. - Where: I will post the link in the "Calendar" tab every week. 🚀 Your First Mission (The Intro Challenge) The best way to stop freezing in meetings is to start speaking now. Introduce yourself in the comments below using this 3-step format: 1. The Role: What do you do and what industry are you in? 2. The "Freeze": What is the one situation where you feel your English holds you back most? (e.g., "Unexpected questions," "Interrupting senior management," etc.) 3. The Goal: What is one "win" you want to have in a real meeting this month? Bonus Points: Record a 30-second Video Comment of your intro. This is a Speaking Lab, after all! 🎥 I’ll see you all in the comments! — Danny Morales/TEFLirl 💡 What you should do next: 1. Post this in the "Community" section. 2. Pin it (click the three dots on the post -> Pin to top). 3. Upload a Video Comment of yourself doing the introduction first. Since you’re the coach, seeing your face and hearing your voice immediately builds trust. 4. Set up your Calendar: Go to the "Calendar" tab in Skool and add your Wednesday 9:00 AM session so they get the reminder.
🚀 Business English Tip: Master Verb + Noun Collocations
Have you ever said something that's grammatically correct, but it just didn't sound natural? The difference is often collocations—words that native speakers naturally use together. Here are a few common examples: ✅ Raise awareness ✅ Break a habit ✅ Take responsibility ✅ Draw a conclusion ✅ Bear in mind ✅ Carry out research ✅ Make progress ✅ Face a challenge These expressions are used every day in business meetings, presentations, emails, and workplace conversations. Challenge for today: Choose ONE collocation from the image and write your own sentence in the comments. I'll give you feedback and help you make it sound even more natural! Small improvements every day lead to big results. 💪 #BusinessEnglish #Collocations #EnglishLearning #ProfessionalCommunication

🚀 Business English Tip: Sound More Natural with Collocations
Knowing vocabulary is helpful. Knowing which words naturally go together is what makes you sound fluent. These are called collocations—the word combinations native English speakers use every day. For example: ✅ major issue ✅ high expectations ✅ significant impact ✅ broad knowledge Instead of translating word-for-word from your first language, learning collocations helps you: • Speak more confidently in meetings • Write more professional emails • Give smoother presentations • Sound more natural during conversations 📖 Take a look at today's examples in the image. 💬 Which collocation is new to you? Try writing your own sentence in the comments, and I'll give you feedback. #BusinessEnglish #EnglishLearning #Collocations #ProfessionalEnglish #EnglishTips
