⭐ Business English Tip: Answer Interview Questions with the STAR Method
Have you ever been asked:
• "Tell me about a time you solved a difficult problem."
• "Describe a challenging situation."
• "Give me an example of when you showed leadership."
Many English learners know what they want to say—but they struggle to organize their answer.
That's where the STAR Method comes in.
⭐ S – Situation
Briefly explain the context.
⭐ T – Task
What was your responsibility?
⭐ A – Action
What did you do?
⭐ R – Result
What happened? What did you achieve?
Example:
Question:
"Tell me about a time you improved a process."
Situation: Our team was missing project deadlines.
Task: I was asked to improve our workflow.
Action: I introduced a project tracking system and held weekly check-ins.
Result: We reduced delays by 30% and completed projects on time.
💬 Practice:
Answer this question in the comments:
"Tell me about a time you solved a problem at work."
I'll give you feedback on both your English and your interview answer.
