🚨WAQAR KHAN SESSION RECORDING UPLOADED🚨
🚨WE HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU!!🚨
Most people wait for access. This is about earning it. We’re launching a challenge inside the network: 👉 Your goal: secure a senior energy executive for a TEE360 session. How it works: - You reach out to executives (CEO / C-suite / senior leaders) - If they agree to join a session… put a post on the chat tagging @Emilio Faulmata - If your guest is selected, you will have the opportunity to host the session, moderate and lead the conversation. Comment below who you're thinking of reaching out to!

Key takeaways from today’s session
I joined the live session with Waqar Khan, where he shared insights from operating at scale across the global energy industry. For those who couldn’t attend, here are a few key takeaways I found especially valuable: The first years of an engineering career are highly formative — not just for technical skills, but for shaping long-term direction. Being intentional early on and choosing environments with steep learning curves can significantly accelerate growth. A recurring theme was the importance of understanding strategy at a deeper level — even when it is not explicitly stated. Observing how decisions are made within organizations can help engineers better position themselves for future roles. We also discussed how the role of engineers is evolving. The next generation will need to combine strong engineering fundamentals with digital skills such as data, AI, and machine learning — especially in fields like production and energy systems. On a personal note, I strongly resonated with the emphasis on global exposure and mobility. Having had the opportunity to travel to Canada for research experience, I saw firsthand how different environments shape thinking and problem-solving. In the coming month, I will also be heading to France for a summer internship, which I see as another step toward building a truly global engineering perspective. I hope to continue developing my career across different countries and contexts, in line with the global outlook encouraged at KFUPM. Finally, there was a strong emphasis on mindset — thinking beyond traditional career paths, staying open to opportunities, and approaching work with ownership and initiative. Would be great to connect with others from the session and hear your takeaways as well.
Energy Shapes Power, Not Just Markets
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Europe has been forced to urgently rethink its energy dependencies. In this context, Algeria has strategically repositioned itself as a key and reliable energy supplier, particularly to Italy. Through strengthened gas partnerships and infrastructure, Algeria has not only increased its exports but also reinforced its role as a stable partner in a time of uncertainty. This shift has allowed Italy, in turn, to reposition itself as an emerging energy hub in Europe, redistributing flows across the continent. The question is no longer who produces energy, but who controls its direction, its access, and ultimately, its political meaning.
Meet Rahaf
Hi everyone, I’m Rahaf Almutairi, a junior Mechanical Engineering student at KFUPM, almost a senior in less than a month. I enjoy taking on leadership roles in technical teams, and I’ve worked on hands-on projects like Shell Eco-marathon and UAV airframe design. This summer, I’ll be joining SLB for a two-month internship at the Rebound Production Center in France🇫🇷. Curious to learn how engineering and leadership come together in real field environments.
