Curiosity is really important
What I noticed in general is that most people I meet are not naturally curious as to why things are the way they are. In my opinion, this should be different. Curiosity is what got us here and what can potentially get us to greater heights.
The future of OPEC?
With the UAE leaving OPEC, it is interesting to see how things are playing out right now. Fuel prices increased even more in the UAE, and Saudi lost a key ally. What are your thoughts?
Meet Rahaf
Hi everyone, I’m Rahaf Almutairi, a junior Mechanical Engineering student at KFUPM, almost a senior in less than a month. I enjoy taking on leadership roles in technical teams, and I’ve worked on hands-on projects like Shell Eco-marathon and UAV airframe design. This summer, I’ll be joining SLB for a two-month internship at the Rebound Production Center in France🇫🇷. Curious to learn how engineering and leadership come together in real field environments.

That's a great history of projects!
Shifting Problems
Everyone wants to switch to renewables. We are moving away from fossil fuels, but we are simply replacing that with a dependency on critical minerals for batteries. We might just be shifting our problems instead of solving them. What do you think about this?
AI Energy Drain
We always focus on efficiency in terms of output, but we never look at the resources required to achieve that specific output. AI is a prime example of this. It takes a lot of energy to run, and not many people are talking about it. If anything, AI proves that we need the energy industry even more! What are your thoughts? Do you think we should stop using AI, or can there be some middle ground?
