Christmas Eve has a way of slowing things down — if you let it.
The light fades a little softer. The air feels more deliberate .Even familiar places seem to ask for a longer look. Tonight doesn’t need plans or productivity. Just presence. A short walk. A pause on the porch. Standing still long enough to notice how quiet the world can get. However you’re spending the evening — outside or close to home — I hope you find a small moment that feels grounded and real. Merry Christmas Eve 🌿 Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

Hey everyone 👋Glad to be here.
I’m Rodney. I spend a lot of time outside — not chasing extremes, just slowing down enough to notice what usually gets missed. Short walks. Quiet water. Familiar places seen with fresh eyes. I document a lot of that through my YouTube channel, Blackwater Outdoor Journeys, mostly as a way to capture time outdoors and the lessons that come with it. That eventually grew into a learning community called Outdoor Bushcraft Camp Skills, where I help folks build confidence through simple, transferable outdoor skills. What pulled me into Wandering Creature is the shared mindset — curiosity over noise, presence over pace, and growth that happens naturally when you spend more time outside. Lately I’ve been reminded that wandering doesn’t have to be far or dramatic. Sometimes it’s just stepping out the door, paying attention, and letting the moment be enough. Looking forward to wandering alongside you all 🌿 Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

River crossing
Ever been to little Bradley falls? There are a few river crossings. How do you handle these? Jump from rock to rock or trek right through??
