River crossing
Ever been to little Bradley falls? There are a few river crossings. How do you handle these? Jump from rock to rock or trek right through??

🌿 Tom Jones, Parker Cabin, and Lake Skenonto Loop — Harriman State Park
Harriman delivered on this one. The loop starts with a solid climb up Tom Jones Mountain for big valley views, then settles into an easier middle section through the woods before passing Lake Skenonto. Expect some rocky terrain and a few steep bits early on; overall it’s a great mix of effort and payoff. Trail Snapshot: 📍 Location: Harriman State Park, NY 🥾 Length: 4.4 miles (loop) ⛰️ Elevation Gain: 1,030 ft ⏱️ Estimated Time: 2.5–3 hrs ⚡ Difficulty: Moderate ⭐ Rating: 4.6/5 Parking & Trailhead: 🚗 Trailhead: County Road 106 (Tom Jones Mountain pull-off) • Small roadside lot, easy to spot • Follow the Ramapo–Dunderberg (red) blaze to start Trailgoers are saying (from reviews): “Beautiful views, well-marked trails, and a gorgeous lake. Steep climbs and rocky terrain—good shoes and hydration recommended.” 👉 Hiked this loop or nearby routes in Harriman? Drop your favorite connections or tips below.

A Day at Silver Mine 🌿
My wife and I spent the day hiking at Silver Mine and it couldn’t have been better. The trail had more climb and rocky stretches than we expected, but that just added to the adventure. Between the lake, the streams, and those quiet spots under the trees, it felt like one of those hikes where you enjoy every step. Sharing a few photos from the day — it really was beautiful out there. 👉 Anyone else been to Silver Mine? What’s your favorite trail in that area?
