📈 From Word-of-Mouth to Outbound: My First Campaign (and What I Learned on My Clarity Call)
Hey everyone,
Kamaya Johnson here from mytaxspa.com. I’m usually the “referral queen”--> almost all my clients come from word of mouth. But I’m finally launching my first outbound email campaign, and after my Clarity Call, I wanted to share what I’m learning (and what might help you if you’re new to this too!).
🌟 My Offer (and Who I Help)
I help two kinds of people:
  • The “Tax-Behind” Crowd: If you haven’t filed in years (or you owe big), I’ll get you back on track--> and even help cut down what you owe with my resolution partners.
  • Business Owners Missing Out: If you’re growing but still operating as an LLC, you’re probably paying way too much in taxes. I show you how to switch to S-Corp and keep more of what you earn.
💡 What the Clarity Call Unlocked
1. It’s About Timing & Simplicity
I was stressing over getting every detail perfect. Ian reminded me:
“You can’t say the wrong thing to the right person. The magic is in getting your message in front of enough people at the right time.”
2. Break Your List Into Campaigns
We realized my clients fall into two main buckets, and my campaigns should reflect that:
  • “Behind on taxes or owe?”
  • “Are you overpaying as an LLC?”That way, my outreach speaks directly to their pain--> and their goals.
3. Track Your Numbers, Not Just Your Nerves
I learned to expect about a 10% reply rate. If I send 100 emails, 10 replies is solid. Of those, 1 booked call is a win.
It’s all a numbers game--> don’t overthink, just track your stats and adjust.
4. Make the Offer Juicy --> With Reciprocity
Instead of hard selling, I’m giving something valuable right away (like a free “Deductee” tool, or a quick assessment to see if switching to S-Corp makes sense).
This not only gets replies--> it helps me qualify the best clients before the call.
5. Use Tools to Qualify, Not Just Pitch
I’m planning to build a simple GPT agent or quiz that shows business owners if they’re leaving money on the table. (People are way more honest with a chatbot than a stranger!)
🛠️ My Next Steps
  • Start slow--> 5 emails per mailbox per day, ramp up with “slow ramp” in Instantly.
  • Run two separate campaigns: one for “tax-behind” and one for “S-Corp switchers.”
  • Offer a high-value, low-barrier “gift” in the first email to get them curious (and filter out the tire-kickers).
