Lessons from a 31-year relationship ... Today marks the beginning of 31 years I've shared with my husband. Some of the most important lessons he and the relationship have taught me.
I don't always have to be right or have the only way things can be done.
If you can't find something - look up.
Things can be allowed to develop they don't have to be finished right after they are started (though we don't also have to live in a mess)
Laughter makes life more fun - we're never too old to be silly.
I bought him a love fern (if you know you know) and an anniversary card - we both signed it - I think we'll give it to each other next year too.

Substack likes to hide stuff to I thought I'd take a minute today and share where you can find a copy things over there.
Podcast stats - now moved to dashboard >publish>podcast
Followers - dashboard > analytics > stats > audience
Surveys - dashboard > analytics > stats > surveys (you can create them here too!)

5 Things to Check on Your Substack Right Now 👀
Before you learn another strategy, download another guide, or decide you need to completely rebuild your publication, let’s check the foundations.
These five things may seem simple, but they can make the difference between merely publishing on Substack and building something that actually grows your audience, strengthens relationships, and generates income.
1. Have you connected Stripe? 💰
Even if you aren’t planning to launch a paid subscription right now, connect Stripe.
You should always give people the opportunity to give you money if they want to.
You do not need thousands of subscribers. You don’t need an elaborate paid-content calendar. You simply need a clear way for someone who values what you’re creating to support your work or take the next step with you.
Don’t make people wait until you feel “ready.”
2. Does your wordmark blend - or does it look like a stamp stuck at the top? 🖼️
Take a look at the top of your publication.
Does your wordmark feel like it belongs there, or does it look like a rectangular logo was pasted on top of your header?
This may seem like a tiny design detail, but it changes how polished and intentional your publication feels the moment someone arrives.
I created a quick video showing you how to fix this:
3. Do your posts include CTAs? ➡️
Every post should lead somewhere.
That doesn’t mean every post needs to make a hard sell. A CTA can invite someone to:
✨ Subscribe
✨ Upgrade to paid
✨ Read a related post
✨ Download a resource
✨ Join your community
✨ Explore one of your offers
Your reader should never reach the end of a post and be left wondering, “Now what?”
Your content creates interest. Your CTA gives that interest somewhere meaningful to go.
4. Are you commenting on other people’s work? 💬
Substack isn’t simply a publishing platform. It’s a relationship platform.
Posting your own Notes and articles matters, but so does joining the conversations already happening around you.
Leave thoughtful comments. Respond to ideas that genuinely interest you. Encourage people. Ask real questions.
Not because you’re trying to manipulate anyone into following you, but because relationships are how people begin to recognize, remember, and trust you.
5. Are you publishing notes & content consistently? 🗓️
Consistency does not mean posting constantly.
It means choosing a rhythm you can realistically maintain and allowing people to learn that you will keep showing up.
That might mean:
📝 One article each week
📱 One Note each day
🎥 One Live each month
Your rhythm does not need to look like anyone else’s. It simply needs to be sustainable enough that you don’t disappear every time life gets busy.
You grow by publishing-not by waiting until every part of your Substack is perfect.
So take five minutes and check:
✅ Stripe connected
✅ Wordmark polished
✅ CTAs included
✅ Genuine comments happening
✅ Consistent publishing rhythm
Which of these five needs your attention right now?

Have you been thinking about using Pinterest, but you’ve tried it before and thought:
This is too much work.
Or maybe:
This isn’t worth the effort. I posted a few pins - or even 100 of them - and nothing happened.
That is exactly why I created The Intentional Pin.
There is a way to use Pinterest without allowing it to suck up your entire life - and still create meaningful, long-term results.
I will be honest with you: Pinterest usually isn’t the place to look for instant results. It works much more like Google than social media.
You need to publish enough strategically created, SEO-focused content for Pinterest to understand what your account is about, connect your pins with the right searches, and begin showing them to the people already looking for what you offer.
But that doesn’t mean you need to become a Pinterest expert or create hundreds of random pins hoping something eventually works. 🙃
Create pins for things people are actually searching for 🔍
There is a simple strategy for helping pins rank on Pinterest - and honestly, the foundation of it has been around since Pinterest began.
I teach that strategy inside The Intentional Pin. (this is a quick strategy too - take you about 10 minutes to get the idea)
I’ve also created a tool that applies the strategy to your existing content and generates up to seven intentionally targeted pin ideas in about a minute.
Instead of asking, “What should I make a pin about?” you can quickly uncover:
📌 What people are searching for
📌 Which angle to use for each pin
📌 How to position your content for discovery
📌 Which board each pin belongs on
The goal isn’t to create more content just for Pinterest.
It’s to help the right people discover the valuable content you have already created.
And there’s an optional Pin Swap - without the swapping 🤝
If you’d like some additional exposure, you can add your pins to the category-based Pin Swap threads inside the community.
This is not a pin-for-pin arrangement. You are never required to save someone else’s pin because they saved yours, and there is no random mass-repinning that could confuse your account.
The threads simply give your pins another place to be discovered.
Because The Intentional Pin is a public community, anyone who visits can see the pins shared in these threads and save the ones that genuinely fit their interests or boards - even if they aren’t a member.
No forced reciprocity.
No pinning things that don’t belong on your account.
No spending your entire day on Pinterest.
Just a simple, intentional strategy for creating something worth finding - and helping the right people find it. 📌✨
