I don’t have much to do but fix the holes in my bag. I’m using a weaving stitch and a blanket stitch with sashiko thread.

In Los Angeles!
I’m visiting my sister in LA until July 6. I visited Michael’s already and I haven’t been to one since 2016 or so I think. Mostly I got brightly colored embroidery floss, soft fabric paint, and stabilizer. What would you recommend getting? I also saw a scrolling embroidery frame for $24 but I already was getting a 20 color fabric paint set for $35… so I didn’t get it. 😐 Some photo highlights of my trip so far!

Hearts for Healthcare
This may absolutely have already been posted but I gave them away today so it brought all the excitement for them back again. 😂 I've been dealing with the same non healing wound in my breast since May of 2023. This year after surgery 2 I decided I wanted to make something for the people I was spending an hour with every week. The Breast Center received the first round and The Wound Care Center got theirs today. 💜 I didn't get to see the rest of The Wound Care Center's reactions but the front desk lady's was everything. I think the front desk people don't get enough credit for being the first face we see when we come in, sometimes the first to say "hello" to us in the morning, the one to keep everything organized and rolling. Just thanking them seems to make their day everytime. 😊 Each heart was made especially to suit each person's personality. • The ladybug heart is for the front desk lady, Gina. She is a breath of fresh air to talk to each and everytime I walk in the door. • The black with colorful flowers is for Kelly (I wasn't sure how to spell her name and as someone who has a hard name to spell, I didn't want her to cringe everytime she saw it spelled wrong 😂). She is a bright light in a dark place. She seriously gives vibes like she should work at a daycare or a pool or just anywhere you can imagine happy people would be. But instead she works dealing with wounded people who are tired and I can bet did not want to be there today. She makes The Wound Care Center a happier place to be. • The purple heart is for Amy. Purple reads to me as soft, love and trusting. And that's what she is! • The last two are for Jonnie and Lisa. Those two saw me from the start to where we are now. I wanted to make something for them that reminded them of me. I got married during the time of seeing them and had been folding origami cranes for my reception. Everytime I came in they would ask how many I had; I believe the final total was about 700 and I ended up with probably 100 more than I needed! I matched their colors to their personalities and what I thought they would pick.

An embroidery workshop and selling at craft market
I held an embroidery workshop for the first time yesterday. It was fun and the participants really enjoyed embroidery. When they got home, they got to do the embroidery pattern that I designed and drew for them. And today tried selling at my friend's stand at the craft market..I made some pins and key chain from upcycled fabrics and wool felts. I had a fun and busy weekend. My birthday was on Friday, so this is a fun way celebrating my birthday 😌😉🥳

WIP WED
Hey it’s WIP Wednesday! What are you working on!? I’m working on drawing the outlines for my next artwork. It’s going to be really big! I don’t know how big yet, but I needed a large frame to work on for it. The photos are from a photographer friend of mine, Matthew Jordan Smith. His goal was to capture movement in photos, so I composed his photography to show movement as he had done previously in an art exhibition. It’ll be a long project. It’s ambitious. But it’ll be worth it when it’s done.
