Most Wix store homepages fail for one simple reason: they try to say too much instead of guiding the visitor to act.
A strong homepage should do 4 things clearly:
- Say what the store/ sells and who it’s for
- Show the main product or category
- Build trust (benefits, proof, clarity)
- Push the visitor toward shopping or booking
Common mistakes I see in Wix stores: Sliders instead of a clear hero message, Multiple competing calls to action, no obvious next step
If your homepage doesn’t answer these in 5 seconds: “What do you sell?” “Who is this for?” “What should I click?”
It’s probably hurting conversions.
In future audits, I’ll reference this structure when breaking down real stores.
