Question about a "Commitment"

Lucy is at Stetson this weekend for the CCSC National Showcase. It has so far been a very worthwhile trip. Something came up this morning during the Coaches' discussion panel that piqued my interest. Is a commitment by a player tied to the coach or is it tied to the school? For instance... The athlete receives an offer from ABC University and accepts it. In the interim, the coach who made the offer leaves. Is that offer still good for the athlete or does the game start again?
