Breathing Can Help but It’s Not Enough
Deep breathing helps fix your anxiety for the moment, but It doesn’t create a sense of lasting peace, which is what you need to get through the next speaking engagement (on stage or in a meeting).
Instead, build a repeatable system you can use in every situation and include breathing in that framework.
For example:
  • Determine what’s most important to say
  • Map out 3 supporting points
  • Bring it home
  • 5 deep breathes before speaking in a private place (the bathroom, closet, your car, or an room)
