“The natural movement toward the best version of oneself perceives neither desire nor rejection, yet includes both without attachment.”
Author: A me from sometime ago.
Desire and rejection exist, but how much should we live with them or against them? Perhaps each has its own natural measure within us, to the point that neither is even noticed in our individual experience, yet both continue to find expression in the world, always subject to the judgment of others.
But does how others perceive our desires and rejections help us find balance, or does it disturb an inner balance they cannot see?
Perhaps balance lies not in ceasing to desire or reject, but in allowing even desire and rejection to find their place without needing to justify it.
And perhaps ignorance extends even to responsibility itself. When something or someone finally draws our attention to what we had not perceived, only then do we become responsible in a new way.
Yet if we do not perceive our own balance, but only what disturbs it, how can we know whether what we call balance is not simply something that has yet to be questioned?
