Have you ever looked for someone who could finally give you the answers?
The mentor, the teacher, the method that would show you the right way?
I’ve done that too. Many times.
But what I’ve learned is that when your nervous system is calm and you’re connected to yourself, you stop chasing external certainty.
Because your body already knows what’s true.
Lately, I’ve been noticing how many people in the spiritual world position themselves as “awakened”, as if they’ve reached a destination and can now take you there too.
And honestly? That never feels right in my body.
When I was listening to a book on Buddhism this week, something landed deeply:
The Buddha gave us a path, but he never told people to follow him.
He taught them how to look within.
Because no one else can define right living or right action for you.The answers have to come from inside.
That’s the difference between a guide and a guru.
A true guide helps you come home to yourself.
A false guru pulls you further away.
One will leave you feeling grounded.
The other will leave you feeling hooked.
Real wisdom settles your system.
It feels calm, safe, and clear, even if it challenges you.
So next time you hear advice that feels uncertain, pause for a moment.
Take a breath.
And ask your body: Does this open me or tighten me?
Your body doesn’t lie.
It already knows the truth.
When you’re regulated, you don’t need to be told who you are or what to do, you already know.
The journey isn’t about finding the next guru.
It’s about learning to trust the quiet, steady voice inside that says,
“You’re safe to choose yourself.”
