Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing we had to choose.
💪🏼 Be strong or be soft.
🧘 Be ambitious or be peaceful.
🎨 Be practical or be creative.
💵Be successful or be spiritual.
🥱 Be the responsible one… or the adventurous one.
As if becoming ourselves meant leaving pieces of ourselves behind.
But what if that’s never what we were meant to do?
What if the journey isn’t about becoming someone new at all? What if it’s about remembering who you were before you learned to edit yourself to make other people comfortable.
Nature doesn’t apologize for being many things at once.
🌊The ocean can be calm one day and wildly powerful the next.
🌲 Trees are both deeply rooted and constantly growing.
☀️ The sun doesn’t ask permission to shine, and 🌘 the moon never apologizes for changing.
Maybe we’re meant to be that way too.
You can love lifting weights and love meditation.
You can build a business and spend an afternoon getting lost in a book.
You can be logical and deeply intuitive.
You can be disciplined and playful.
You can chase big dreams and still crave a quiet life.
You don’t have to choose one version of yourself just because someone else feels more comfortable putting people into neat little boxes. 📦
The people who are most at peace aren’t usually the ones who have perfected one identity. They’re the ones who have stopped abandoning parts of themselves.
The more you remember who you are, the less energy you spend trying to convince anyone else.
And maybe that’s what freedom really feels like.
