Today in James 3 we talked about how words have power. The words used as a child from your parents have shaped the way that you communicate, show love, etc.. The words used toward you in past relationships have shaped the way you trust others.. The words you use toward speak about yourself have shaped the way you view yourself.

Today we finished up James 2 where James is questioning our faith since our works don't seem to match up. We say we are Christians but we send orphans not their way with no food. God calls us to step out in faith but we sit comfortably in out routines that fit society. What is one thing in your life that is a contradiction to your faith? Mine is my pride. And I am so thankful that God has revealed that over the last week and a half. I never realized how much of an ego I had bc it wasn't a loud arrogance... it was motive in my heart, so it came very quietly. I have fully surrendered it to Him and He is working on me and in me.

James 2:1-13 came with some conviction today! Basically, quit judging people because you are breaking the law in another way. You aren't any better than that person. And another thing, quit rejecting those who you don't find attractive or high enough status. They have humble and honest hearts and that's what matters.

We wrapped up James 1 today (yesterday actually bc I forgot to post the video 🤦‍♀️) and it tell us to quit lying to ourselves. I’ll make a post about what the Holy Spirit made clear to me in how I was lying to myself.

Continuing working through James 1 today where the difference in being tempted and tested is laid out. Society's standard of good is not God's standard of good. His standard is Truth and not opinion.
