English/ ⬇️español más abajo⬇️ Day 8. The more I draw this series, the less I think about references and the more I think about shape, balance, and tattoo readability. This sketch is another step in that direction. I pushed the crown higher, simplified some of the forms, and focused on creating a silhouette that would still read clearly from a distance. It’s interesting how repeating the same concept every day doesn’t limit creativity—it sharpens it. Small changes add up, and before you know it, you’re drawing something that feels entirely your own. Question for you: When you’re working on a series, do you consciously evolve each design, or do the changes happen naturally? Español Día 8. Cuanto más avanzo con esta serie, menos pienso en las referencias y más en las formas, el equilibrio y cómo funcionaría el diseño como tatuaje. En este boceto he llevado la corona un poco más arriba, he simplificado algunas formas y me he centrado en conseguir una silueta que siga siendo clara incluso vista desde lejos. Es curioso cómo repetir un mismo concepto cada día no limita la creatividad; la afina. Los pequeños cambios se van acumulando hasta que, sin darte cuenta, el diseño empieza a sentirse completamente tuyo. Pregunta para vosotros: Cuando trabajáis en una serie, ¿evolucionáis cada diseño de forma consciente o dejáis que cambie de manera natural?

English/ ⬇️ español más a bajo ⬇️ Day 7. Today marks a small milestone. For the first time, I stepped away from the Witch-king of Angmar’s helmet and designed my own crown instead. The previous sketches helped me understand the shapes and proportions I liked. Now it feels like the series is starting to develop its own identity. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy working through a challenge like this. Inspiration is just the starting point—the goal is to take it somewhere new. Question for you: At what point do you think inspiration becomes your own style? Español Día 7. Hoy hay un pequeño cambio importante. Por primera vez he dejado a un lado el casco del Rey Brujo de Angmar y he diseñado mi propia corona. Los bocetos anteriores me han servido para entender qué formas y proporciones me gustaban. Ahora siento que la serie empieza a encontrar su propia identidad. Esa es una de las cosas que más me gustan de este tipo de retos. La inspiración solo es el punto de partida; el objetivo es llevarla hacia algo propio. Pregunta para vosotros: ¿En qué momento creéis que una inspiración deja de ser una referencia y empieza a convertirse en vuestro propio estilo?

⬇️español mas abajo⬇️ Day 6. I’m still exploring the Witch-king of Angmar’s helmet, but with each sketch I’m relying less on the reference and more on instinct. This one is bolder, with larger black shapes and a cleaner silhouette—thinking more like a tattoo than an illustration. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy repeating the same subject. Every sketch teaches me something new, whether it’s a better shape, stronger contrast, or a simpler solution. The goal isn’t to draw 20 different helmets. It’s to let one idea evolve through repetition. Question for you: When you repeat a subject, do you find yourself adding more details… or simplifying it? Español The Crowned Dead #06 Día 6. Sigo explorando el casco del Rey Brujo de Angmar, pero con cada boceto dependo menos de la referencia y más de la intuición. En este he buscado una silueta más limpia y masas de negro más contundentes, pensando más como tatuador que como ilustrador. Esa es una de las razones por las que disfruto repitiendo el mismo tema. Cada dibujo me enseña algo nuevo, ya sea una mejor forma, un contraste más fuerte o una solución más sencilla. El objetivo no es hacer 20 cascos diferentes, sino dejar que una misma idea evolucione con la repetición.
