⬇️Español más abajo ⬇️ Day 5 Today’s sketch is a little different. This time I also took a photo of the linework before filling in any blacks. If this design ever becomes a tattoo, I’ll already have a clean version ready to use as the stencil. I’m still inspired by the Witch-king of Angmar’s helmet, but with each sketch I’m trying to move a little further away from the original and let the design develop its own identity. One thing I’ve noticed during this challenge is that repetition really helps. Drawing the same subject over and over isn’t boring—it forces you to solve new problems every day. Question for you: When you revisit the same subject, what changes first? The silhouette, the details, or the way you use black?

Creepy boy
I start drawing this creepy boy today. I have some issues with the eyes. So i stopped drawing for today and will try to fix it tomorrow.

morning so I think you get caught up in details ,I would first analyse the drawing in shapes ,meaning what shapes do you see first ,secondly checked the details but in simple shapes ,once sketched out the simple shapes I would block in first the blacks , as you working with charcoal you can erase which is big part of drawing with charcoal , And I wouldn’t “try to fix “ just go with process , block the blacks , build up the shades , render the shades( gradient ), erase to make highlights

Blacks and shading shapes
Dead Prince No. 4
I slowed down for this one. I did use some reference. Don’t why I chose something shiny, but it seemed to make sense at the time. Enjoy.

Well I think it’s nice but guessing it’s not finished ,as you are creating a shiny chrome effect and skulls are more fun :) and also skulls with flowers could also be a thing

Used a timer this time. Found myself putting a lot of time on drawing. Just had to remind myself that it’s a sketch.

I really like the helmet design—it has a great silhouette. I’d also encourage you to think of your cast shadows as simple black shapes .Those bold shadow masses will make the drawing read much more clearly. As for the timer, I don’t think it’s necessary to force yourself into an hour. I’d rather see you start the sketch and commit to finishing it in one sitting. That habit is probably more valuable than racing the clock. Keep it up!
