Editor Prompts for Chat
I was working on my story and struggling with the ending. Once I realized what it was, I asked Chat for some prompts to help when I was in the same situation again. I thought someone else might like them as well:
Editor’s Prompt Guide
Use these when something feels off, but you can’t tell why.
  1. “Don’t fix it yet—tell me why this doesn’t feel right.”  → Helps me analyze flow, tone, or structure before rewriting.
  2. “Can you read this like an editor and point out any redundancy or overlap?”  → Flags repeated ideas, emotions, or pacing slowdowns.
  3. “What’s breaking the emotional flow here?”  → Identifies transitions that feel abrupt or disconnected.
  4. “Does this section repeat something I’ve already said?”  → Keeps long-form stories, emails, or captions tight and focused.
“Can you zoom out and tell me if this section earns its place?”
→ Ensures every paragraph moves the story or message forward.
