Thanks Brenda for the quiz. It really got me thinking. My result was Transformational Luminary. It really got me thinking... Being a Luminary doesn't mean I stand at the front so everyone looks at me. For me, Luminary means that I hold a light so other women can pick up the thread of who they were, and take it somewhere new.
That has been the constant through everything I've done: a degree and master's in education and gender studies and years working with vulnerable women and children.
There's a moment a lot of women over 50 know: realising you stopped seeing yourself in the picture. She's the woman I'm building the community for. She was also me.
The Women We Are opens in January 2027. By this time next year, I'd like to see women talking honestly about what they once wanted for themselves, before it got diluted or quietly put away.
My vision - It's a place where women refuse to be written off. They make their own choices without apologising for them. The name says it: The Women We Are, and the women we're still becoming.
The value I'm building on - Permission. Plenty of women don't need more information, they need permission to choose themselves without the guilt.
My goal - To open the doors in January with 30 founding members (I'm building a waiting list), and to keep them past the first three months.
For those of you who've already launched: what do you wish you'd known before you opened your doors?
