So about a week ago, I went from a Freemium watercolor painting community to making my standard tier $7. I know one week is a short time, but what I’ve learned so far is interesting: 1. My healthy stream of free members is now at a standstill. But I did expect that. 2. Growth Boost picked me up and folks started seeing me in ads within hours of making my community paid. TY those of you who sent me messages about this! 🙏 3. There was some website, IG, YouTube, Pinterest, and post copy to change/shift to reflect the 7 day free trial rather than free entry to the group. 4. I have a brand new YouTube video on my channel that talks about my free group (maybe before I made the group paid) and I’ll probably have to hide it for a while… 5. I’m focusing the energy I was using to welcome new members, on free members who may not know what premium or VIP can do for them. Right now, paid seems harder because - Despite some major growth boost ads, no $7 sales yet. - I feel like I’m speaking to 4 separate groups now instead of 3, and there were some significant changes to make not only in my copy, but in my positioning. I know it’s only been a week, but I’m really missing Freemium. Especially after listening to @Brenda Rigney’s new YouTube video on why her free groups are making more than her paid ones. Thankfully, this was just an experiment and I can change it back to Freemium anytime. Brenda, or some of you with paid groups, maybe you have some tips? 😊 Should I it more time? Or call it quits?
