One of the easiest ways to improve your AI-generated content is to stop using the words that instantly make it sound AI-generated.
AI defaults to language that is overly polished, overly formal, and used by millions of other people.
Here are some words and phrases I remove almost every time:
❌ Let's dive in
❌ In today's fast-paced digital landscape
❌ Unlock your potential
❌ Harness the power of
❌ Leverage
❌ Game-changing
❌ Revolutionary
❌ Seamless
❌ Robust
❌ Navigate
❌ Delve into
❌ Take it to the next level
❌ Elevate your business
Instead, use language that sounds like a real conversation:
✅ Here's what I learned
✅ This surprised me
✅ Here's what worked
✅ Here's the mistake I made
✅ Use
✅ Build
✅ Create
✅ Fix
✅ Improve
✅ Test
✅ Launch
Another giveaway is sentence structure.
AI loves writing things like:
❌ It's not just about getting clients. It's about building relationships.
❌ Whether you're a coach, consultant, or creator...
❌ In a world where technology is constantly evolving...
Humans are usually more direct.
Try:
✅ Getting clients is easier when people trust you.
✅ Most business owners run into the same problem.
✅ Technology is changing quickly, but the fundamentals haven't changed.
A simple exercise I use when editing AI content:
Read it out loud.
The moment you hit a sentence that feels unnatural, awkward, or like something you'd never actually say, rewrite it.
The best AI-generated content doesn't sound like AI.
It sounds like a smart person who had help organizing their thoughts.
The goal isn't to hide the fact that you use AI.
The goal is to make sure your personality is still visible after AI helps you write.
