i check my community stats every single morning for the last 96 days. it's part of my routine. like coffee, cannot be skipped come war or family emergency.
one of the numbers i watch closely? conversion rate. that's the percentage of people who land on your about page and actually join.
the average on skool is around 18%. anything above that = you're doing something right.
mine started strong. 22-33% for weeks. then it started slipping. 14%… 9%… 9%… 9%.
not great when you're putting in work to drive traffic there.
all that effort — posts, outreach, ads — and people land on your page and just… leave.
so, today, i did something about it.
i gave my about page a full facelift
- rewrote the short description
- updated the full about page description
- recorded a VSL
- added fresh reviews (thank you Review Domino)
and i'm about to launch a new meta ads campaign to test if the updated page converts better
your about page is your storefront. if it's not converting, nothing else matters. you can have the best content, the best community, the best energy… but if people bounce before they ever walk in? they'll never know.
but more importantly, is it time for you to update your About page? 👇
