Simple is the new premium
One of the reasons I named this place Simple Video Systems is that I have found that simplicity beats features almost every time. I'll give some examples.
Yesterday I got a chance to drive dump truck in a new location and my target legal market. So getting some footage of that was really appealing to me, so I brought along my Insta 360 X5 and just stuck the camera to various parts of the truck. I didn't have to worry about whether it was pointed in the right direction or lighting. It captures it all and then I can use it later.
With respect to the talking head videos, I've gone through all the extremes. I started out recording with just my laptop and a USB blue yeti mic all the way to a Rodecaster and then a Rodecaster video. All kinds of features. But I don't have the time to figure them out or remember them. So I just go with the simple functions. I need to be able to sit down when I have some spare time, turn things on, and record reasonably high quality.
Today I'll be trying out a new system that should hopefully re-simplify my process. I'll post more once I have a chance to try it out.
