It's time to send the baby off...

Go on now, little one. I’ve held you close for so long, shaping your words, mending your stumbles, giving you every ounce of care I could. You’ve been my late-night companion, my morning thought, my restless dream.

But today, I let you go. You’re off to the editor now, to face the lessons I cannot teach you. I know you’ll come back changed, sharper, stronger, and wiser. Yet my heart still aches, because in this moment I wonder: Did I do enough? Did I prepare you for what’s ahead?

I’ll be waiting when you return. And when you do, we’ll face the world together.
