Hello guys,
I recently got my book submissions BLOCKED because of: "the book(s) might result in a disappointing customer experience" .
I tried twice to change the title, description and some elements in the manuscript then submit again but it just keeps getting blocked. A day before I tired to submit another book on paperback and hardcore format (kindle being live already), both got blocked.
I really don't see what exactly triggers Amazon bots... I think trying to resubmit too quickly (less than 24h after) got the new submission auto-blocked..
I asked by replying to the email twice but all I get is template responses « after review we maintain our decision.. » they just won’t tell what's wrong.
I did a lot of research to try understand what's going on, and here are my findings:
- Trying to resubmit too quickly (less than 24h after) got the new submission auto-blocked. Better wait a few days.
- It's safer to create a new listing to re-submit a book (on a new ISBN), than trying to unblock. This is because trying to unblock will require escalation and human check. A new listing will go through the automated content review again.
- Like Elissa said on KDP Crackdown 2025 live stream, it's a different content review team for Print (paperback and hardcover) and for Kindle.
My Plan moving forward:
- Wait 5+ days before resubmitting a book to review.
- Create a new listing when submitting (not trying to unblock a blocked submission)
- Update the title, description and cover by removing/change anything that could trigger the algo: no crazy claim, no triggering words.
- Update the manuscript: no trigger words, clean formatting, bonus page at the end.
- Update the meta datas: clean 7 keywords, new categories.
I'd like to ask the community if anyone got into this same issue with new submissions?
Would love to share experiences so we can learn from each other and be well prepared when facing those issues!
