I’m a Software Engineer and have a decent understanding of stock market concepts. Learning and research are not a problem for me, but time is. Due to the nature of my job, I’m unable to actively monitor the markets or spend much time analyzing stocks.
For the past several months, I’ve been investing through SIPs, primarily in ETFs rather than individual stocks. Recently, I’ve been wondering whether I should continue with this approach or start building a portfolio of individual stocks instead.
My investment horizon is very long-term—15+ years—and my goal is to build wealth steadily over time.
Given my limited availability to track the market, I’d appreciate advice from more experienced investors:
- Is continuing with ETFs the better strategy for someone in my situation?
- If not, which individual stocks would you recommend for a long-term portfolio?
- Are there any changes you would suggest to improve my current investment approach?
I’d be grateful for any guidance or insights. Thank you in advance for your help!
